About Annai Nagalakshmi
In the spiritual realm, Annai Nagalakshmi is revered as the embodiment and present avatar of Parvathi Devi herself. Born from the divine traces left by Parvathi Devi, she incarnates through the grace of the great Agasthiya Maha Siddha Purusha. These divine traces, assimilated with Lord Shiva as Shiva-Shakti in the sacred red flame at Thiruvannamalai, give rise to Nagalakshmi—a pure spiritual infant.
With divine guidance, Nagalakshmi later marries Mahavatar Babaji, a sacred union initiated by the same Agasthiya Maha Siddha. However, just days after their wedding, both Mahavatar Babaji and Nagalakshmi silently renounce worldly ties and retreat to the Himalayas to live a life of deep spiritual seclusion.
Though Mahavatar Babaji and Annai Nagalakshmi were united in marriage, they transcended the worldly bond and renounced conjugal life. They live a life of perfect celibacy, relating to each other in the purest spiritual sense -like brother and sister.
Their marital relationship is not defined by worldly norms but by profound spiritual purity, mutual reverence, and oneness of purpose. As the embodiment of Parvathi Devi, Annai Nagalakshmi is honoured and worshipped by Mahavatar Babaji as the Divine Mother. In turn, Nagalakshmi sees Mahavatar Babaji as the living avatar of Lord Shiva – pure in consciousness, divine in essence, and worthy of deep adoration.
This sacred relationship is a testament to unconditional love, mutual respect, empathy, and a shared responsibility toward universal well-being. Choosing the path of celibacy, they exemplify the ideal of divine partnership that transcends the physical.
From that very moment, Nagalakshmi came to be known as Annai (Mother) Nagalakshmi, a guiding light and compassionate presence always at the side of Mahavatar Babaji. At the Swarna Swargashram of Gowrishankar Peetam in the Himalayas, she continues to inspire disciples with her tireless service, deep empathy, spiritual guidance, and boundless motherly love.
Just as Shiva and Parvathi are eternally united as Shiva-Shakti, Mahavatar Babaji and Annai Nagalakshmi – through their spiritually pure union – offer divine Darshan to devotees. This sacred grace is most powerfully felt at the ShivaShakthi Peetam Temple, established at Kamaravadi village, near Muguru in Karnataka State, where they eternally dwell as one, blessing the world in their divine form.
